Lactation Consultations

Our experienced Board Certified Lactation Consultants conduct a comprehensive visit (office or in-home) – mother and baby health history, an assessment of the mother’s breasts and a clinical evaluation of the baby’s feeding. A written personalized care plan is developed to support your breastfeeding goals. Your care may be coordinated with your healthcare providers (OB/GYN and pediatrician). Telephone or email follow up by the Lactation Consultant is included.

Your Breastfeeding Consultation time slot will be secured by all major credit cards. There is a $50.00 cancellation fee without 24 hour notice for any appointments.

How Should I prepare for the Breastfeeding Consultation?

Please have the supplies that you use to feed your baby (ex: breast friend pillow, nipple shield, etc.)

If you are supplementing your baby, please bring enough breast milk or formula for a feeding. We encourage a support person to attend. Please feel free to bring a list of questions. We love lists! They help us make sure that we are meeting your needs.

We treat the consult as a feed, so please plan for a full feeding to take place at your appointment time. Baby should arrive ready to feed.

Please completely fill out the forms : Consultation Forms

It is essential that you complete the section about the baby’s last 24 hours (how many times they breastfed, how long did they feed, any supplementation given, wet/dirty diapers, etc.).

REIKI- Relaxation and Healing Therapy

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy

This harmonizing energy therapy promotes one’s natural healing process and can provide deep relaxation and instill a sense of harmony and balance. It is safe for pregnancy and often can relieve the stress of birth and adjusting to life with a new baby.

Nancy J Clark, BS, IBCLC-RLC has been a Reiki Master since 2006. She studied at the George Washington University Center for Intergrative Medicine with Reiki Master Teacher LuAnn Jacobs, MA-CCC/SLP, RMT. She has practiced both in hospital and in private practice with clients of all ages and life events. She has a strong commitment and belief that the Reiki Master can  help  enhance one’s life energy to find its way to heal and relax both body and mind.
