Increase Your Milk Supply with Herbal Supplements

Our Newest Addition to our Supplement Family, is Mulanggay by Golacta.

detail_3448_GoLactaGenerations of Asian mothers have turned to one natural source when they needed to increase their breast milk production: Malunggay. The leaves of the Malunggay tree (moringa oleifera) are nature’s own galactagogues — nature’s way of helping you increase the amount of breast milk you produce.

Go-Lacta® is a plant-based supplement that has scientifically shown to increase mom’s breast milk supply. Mothers who ate Malunggay produced almost 200% more milk than mothers who didn’t. Download the study here!

Go-Lacta® is 100% vegan using premium Malunggay leaves and 100% vegetarian capsules. Produced in an ISO-certified facility, Go-Lacta® ensures a high-quality and safe premium product for mom and baby.

Give your baby more of the perfect food — your own breast milk. Make sure you produce enough with Go-Lacta®!

Insurance Reimbursement

We are a private fee-for-service practice and your fee is due at the time of service. However, under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) lactation consultations are required to be covered by your insurance company (expect for a few “grandfathered plans”). Presently, AETNA is the only insurance company allowing Lactation Consultants in their network.

We will provide you with an invoice with the medical billing codes to assist with reimbursement. Since there are no in-network providers for the major insurance companies, our patients have been getting full reimbursement for lactation services. We will assist you in any way to get lactation coverage that is mandated under the ACA.

Breast Pump Rentals (Discounted)

Pump OneMedela Hospital Grade Symphony  Breast pumps month-to-month rentals are  $65.00 or $300.00 for a five-month prepaid rental ($60.00/month). This pump is the best choice for increasing milk production, establishing a milk supply for a premature or near term infant or stockpiling milk before you go back to work. Your invoice can be coded for possible insurance reimbursement. Call the office with any questions and to arrange for your pump rental.

Lactation Consultations

The board-certified consultants at Northern Virginia Lactation Center, are dedicated to helping you achieve your unique breastfeeding goals, whether you want to exclusively or partially breastfeed. We offer private consultations in our office or in your home. Our Board Certified Lactation Consultants conduct a comprehensive, clinical evaluation of the infant’s feeding.

  • During consultation, a maternal and infant health history is taken.
  • The consultant will conduct a breast assessment for lactation.
  • There is close observation, and assessment of the infant’s breastfeeding and techniques are taught to facilitate correct and effective breastfeeding.
  • Pre-and post-feed weight checks are performed to accurately measure the infant’s milk intake.
  • The consultant will then do an analysis of the information gathered and develop a clear and concise care plan.
  • A report of findings will be given to your health care provider(s).
  • Unlimited phone follow-up is available at no additional charge for as long as you are breastfeeding/pumping for your baby.
  • Free Weight Checks are available.
What Should I Bring to the Breastfeeding Consultation?

One adult-sized bath towel, two cloth diapers or burp cloths, a plastic bag for dirty diapers, a bottle of water and snack for mom, the name, address, phone and fax number of your OB/GYN and Pediatrican or Heath Care Provider. Please bring any breastfeeding aids that you were given in the hospital or purchased, such as nipple shields, syringes, pump, etc. Please total your daily feeding logs.

The consultant will ask you:

  • How many times has your baby gone to breast in the past 24-hrs and for about how long has your baby fed?
  • How many times have you pumped in a 24-hr period?
  • How many minutes are you pumping and how much milk did you obtain in total, all pumping sessions combined?
  • What kind of pump are you using?
  • How much breast milk have you fed to your baby by bottle in the past 24-hrs?
  • How much formula have you fed to your baby in the past 24-hrs?

If you are supplementing your baby, please bring enough breast milk or formula for a feeding. We encourage a support person to attend. Ideally, your baby should be hungry, not ravenous, when you come. Please feel free to bring a list of questions. We love lists! They help us make sure that we are meeting your needs.
