Nancy J. Clark

Nancy is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).  She is a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) and a preceptor for the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLE). She volunteers her time on the Program Board for the DC Area March of Dimes. Nancy specializes in the near term or premature newborn and complex lactation issues. For over thirty years, Nancy has been promoting, supporting and educating new mothers, families and professionals about breastfeeding by developing professional care plans, education models and standards of care in lactation. Nancy considers herself “a first generation lactation consultant.” Board Certified since 1989, Nancy has worked in both hospital and private settings, providing care, education and mentoring new professionals in the field. She is a published author and consultant for Childbirth Graphics, Inc., and Lactation Education Resources (formerly the Georgetown University LC Training Program) and a frequent lecturer in the DC area. In 2006, Nancy also became a Board Certified LaMaze Certified Childbirth Educator and presently teaches prenatal and childbirth classes for new parents.

Ashley began her nursing career in 2006 and obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the Florida Hospital University of Health Sciences.  Ashley has worked with new moms and infants for 10 years in High Risk Perinatal, Postpartum & Newborn Nursery as well as in outpatient and home settings. Ashley worked for two years outside of the US where she developed and taught New Parent Prenatal, Postpartum & Breastfeeding classes to a multicultural University Community from over 70 countries. Her overseas work also led  to a successful Hospital Baby-Friendly Initiative.

Ashley is very passionate about helping to give moms the resources and tools they need to nourish their babies and bond in the way that is healthiest and best for them. She understands empowering new families in the beautiful and sometimes overwhelming process of integrating a new life can entirely change the course of an experience.

Sharon has been helping breastfeeding moms for more than 10 years. In 2001, while breastfeeding her own babies, Sharon became a La Leche League Leader and then earned the IBCLC credential in 2006. She has worked individually with mother baby couples as an IBCLC in area hospitals for the past 6 years. Additionally, she has led breastfeeding support groups making her well equipped to help breastfeeding moms from birth, through babyhood, teething, the toddler years and beyond. Sharon believes moms need information to make good parenting choices; she has developed and taught prenatal and back to work breastfeeding classes. She has a background as a Registered Nurse including home care nursing. She believes the home setting is the best place for moms, dads, and babies to get to know each other as they begin their journey as a family.

Joanna is a postpartum doula who served the DC area for the past six years. She completed her graduate degree in Women and Gender Studies, including coursework in Human Growth and Development to better understand the mental and physical development of mothers and babies.

Joanna focused much of her work on pregnancy and the postpartum period. Specifically, she focused on infant and child development, bonding, and attachment. She began her journey toward International Board Certification over four years earlier while working as a postpartum doula and breastfeeding specialist.

Joanna has worked in the private clinical setting as well as the hospital setting. She has a special interest in reflux, low milk supply and co-sleeping.

Dru started her obstetrical nursing career in 2001 after receiving her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She served four years active duty as a nurse in the US Air Force. The majority of that time was spent as a labor and delivery nurse; however, Dru did gain experience as a postpartum and nursery nurse. It was apparent early on that she had a love for nursing and lactation.

After separating from the military, she worked as a postpartum nurse to gain more breastfeeding experience.

Dru became a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2006. She has worked as a lactation consultant in a hospital setting since 2008. She has taught both prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding education to parents.

peggy Quezada

Peggy graduated from George Mason University, with a BS in Therapeutic Recreation in 2005 as well as a BSN in Nursing in 2011. Over the past 6 years she has worked in the hospital system as a high risk perinatal nurse, mother/baby nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.  Peggy is currently doing lactation home visits with NVLC, serving the Western Fairfax and Loudoun County areas, and some of Prince William County.

Peggy has a passion to educate her clients so they can make the choices that best support their goals with breastfeeding and parenting. For additional prenatal and postnatal support, Peggy recently became also a NASM certified personal trainer, working towards a certification in pre- & post-natal fitness.
